The sun begins to break through the dark folds of the night time skies, rising up over the peaks warming the Kittitas Valley.  As the water heats to just the right degree, the trout begin to move.  Tiny mayflies begin to emerge and riser rings adorn the surface of the water. This float trip excites us like no other.  Why?  Because on this trip, you see water virtually untouched by another soul.  Where on the Yakima can you find this kind of water?  It's here, waiting, with some of the best fly fishing the entire river has to offer and our professional guide service knows how and where to access it.
These sections of the Yakima are accessed by our two (2) person water-craft, an 11 1/2 ft. Kingfisher Pontoon Boat.  This trip is for a single angler and  guide only.  The Kingfisher is a comfortable, stable water craft that is set up specifically for just this purpose. The Kingfisher will  reach the waters where the big boats just can't go.  The Kingfisher will hold two people comfortably as well as gear and all accessories.
As a Professional Guide Service, we pride ourselves on knowing every piece of water the Yakima river has available.  Here, you will be treated to spectacular scenery, abundant wildlife, and some of the finest water and hatches the Yakima river has to offer.   But best of all, you cast flies to trophy rainbow and cutthroat trout! The Pontoon Trip is a extensive day of fly fishing the Yakima river.  However, there is some work involved with this trip, but it is well worth the effort.
This trip is a great experience for your guide to meet your individual angling needs. As well as being treated to spectacular fly fishing, your guide will prepare a delicious streamside lunch of your choice, as you relax on the banks of the Yakima.   Please let us know prior to the trip if you have some type of dietary requirements. The day will begin early at our fly shop in Ellensburg.  Here we will discuss all aspects of the trip with you, and answer any questions you may have.  Once we have outfitted you for the day with all the essentials for a successful trip, your exciting day on the Yakima river will begin.  Before your trip begins we will discuss casting and presentation technique's from the pontoon boat, which will guarantee you a successful day of fly fishing on the Yakima river.
