Joe was our first addition to the professional guide team, after being hired in the early part of the 1999 season.  The overflow of traffic was more than Steve could personally manage by himself.  Joe has been with Worley Bugger Fly Co. ever since and after seven years, remains an intricate part of the company.
The relationship first began in 1997 after Joe stumbled upon the Worley Bugger Fly Co. website searching for fly fishing information on the Yakima River. He placed a call to the office of Worley Bugger and after a brief conversation, hired Steve to guide him and a companion for three days on various sections of the Yakima.  Over the three days period, Joe and Steve seem to take to each other, as a certain blending of personalities, chemistry and interests in the same life pursuits were apparent.  They have been close, like brothers ever since.
Joe grew up in the hillside streets of Magnolia, a suburb of Seattle.  His father, Joe Taller Sr. is a well known and respected Washinton State Legislator.  He also spent many years working as a top executive for the  Boeing Company, helping to build it into the successful company it is today.
Joe excelled in sports while growing up in the metropolis of Seattle.  Tennis, dirt track riding, football and sailing were some of his passions.  In the late 1970's, a family friend introduced Joe to trout fishing with artificial flies on a small Central Washington trout stream.  Since then, Joe's enthusiasm for fly fishing has lead him across the Northwest in search of trout, salmon and steelhead.
Joe spends many of his days on the waters of the Yakima throughout the year as well as pursuing Steelhead and several species of salmon on the famous Green and Snoqualmie Rivers of Western Washington.
He is a close family man, dedicated to his wife Terry aka "the miraculous preparer of the feast"  and his nine year old daughter Stacy.   When Joe's not fishing you may see him cruising on the highways of Washington on his black custom Harley Road King.  He has countless hours meticulously building this machine over the past several years.

Joe like any of our professional guides here at Worley Bugger Fly Co., excels with people of all skill levels. We are sure you will benefit spending a day with him on any of our guided tours.

After meeting Joe and spending days upon days casting flies over various waters around the west, I was convinced his passion for life and fishing would be a true asset to the Worley Bugger Fly Co.  I was correct in assuming this.  Since Joe joined us, he has helped the company grow and prosper into one of the most respected fly fishing outfitting businesses in the country.  For his help, the Worley Bugger family thanks him.

I am confident you will benefit in sharing your fishing day with him.
