Danny was
born in Ellensburg, Washington and raised on a working family farm
located in the river bottom of the Yakima River. His great grandfathers
homesteaded in Kittitas County during the mid 1880’s making Danny a 5th
generation family member to reside in the Ellensburg Valley. |

Several small
tributary of the river coursed through the fields of the family
farm. I grew up fishing these small streams with my father and
grandfather. One of the fondest childhood memories I recall is a day
of fishing with my grandpa on Tanuem Creek. As a young boy, my
grandfather caught his first trout on this small stream. Under his
watchful eye and studious instruction, I did the same. |

On my
13th birthday my mom and dad presented me with my first
fly rod. The next day I set out to christen my new toy on a
small mountain brook trout stream just a few short miles from the
farm. From that day on I was hooked on fly fishing. |

During my teenage years, I explored the high mountain streams of the
alpine wilderness. After high school, I worked for a local rancher
on a horse farm, breaking and busting colts. The weekends were
spent riding bulls and bucking horses in rodeos around the
Northwest. Between my travels, I spent several days in Central
Oregon, fly fishing the Upper Deschutes, Metolius and Crooked River. |

In my
late twenties I moved to Cody, Wyoming to work as a hand on a large
cattle ranch. During my time in the cowboy state, I fished the
North and South Fork of the Shoshone River as well as the famous
Hunter Spring Creek. I have also spent a fair amount of time in
Northern California fly fishing around Susanville, the Fall River
and Hat Creek. |

After seven long
back breaking years of professional bull riding and instructing, I
retired from the sport of rodeo and pursued my other passion, fly
fishing. I began my career with Worley-Bugger Fly Co. in 2001
and have never looked back! |

Throughout the year I also enjoy hunting wildfowl and big game.
Riding horses is still a passion as well as working with my local
church youth group in several outdoor programs and activities. |

I met Danny
just shortly after we opened the Worley Bugger fly shop in downtown
Ellensburg in 1999. The first impressions always say a
lot about a person. I knew right their was something special
about this young man.
Danny is
a hardworking, passionate fly fishermen. His patience
with people and his ability to teach and explain the ideals of fly
fishing are just one of the many talents. I am sure you will
benefit and enjoy your day on the water, wherever it will be with
him.
He is a
true asset to the team at Worley Bugger and we are so glad to have
him in the family.
