Clark Canyon Reservoir

Clark Canyon

The headwaters of the Beaverhead river start here at this large reservoir located 20 miles south of Dillon, Montana on Highway I-15.   The reservoir is feed by Red Rock River to the south and to the west Horse Prairie Creek, two great fisheries in there own right.  Clark Canyon is easily accessible and covers well over 6,000 acres.

The dominate species here are rainbows, that grow in excess of 5 to 7 pounds.  Browns are also common, with catches in the 10 pound range.  The fish grow large here feeding on scuds, leeches, damselflies, midges & Callibaetis mayflies.

A very popular retreat the whole year round.
