The
Worley-Bugger Fly Co. was
founded during the winter of 1995 outside the city of
Ellensburg, Washington by entrepreneur, Steve Worley. It
began as a small internet based company (www.worleybuggerflyco.com)
selling specialized flies for the Yakima River, while offering a
one man Professional Guide Service.
The internet based web site
was the first for the Yakima River, informing anglers
world-wide, while compiling detailed,
accurate information on the river conditions, hatches,
and productive fly patterns. |
 |
|
|
|
As the web-site
gained popularity with fly
fishermen, so did the services of Worley-Bugger.
The one man operation soon grew, and the operators of WBFC could
no longer handle the demand for its services. At this
time, Mr. Joe Taller was hired on a part time basis to manage
the over-flow of fly fishermen looking to experience the Yakima
River for themselves. The 1997 season kept both of them
very busy, logging well over 200 river days on the Yakima. |
|
|
|
In 1998 the web-site, now a popular
place for Yakima River fly fishers, had a strong following and
became an internet based fly shop selling an aray of fly fishing
products. Here, an angler could surf the site and purchase
high quality fly fishing products through the securely.
This was quickly becoming more than one man had ever expected. |
|
|
|
Days were spent fishing the Yakima
through the 1998 season as well as many other Eastern Basin
fisheries. The demand for expansion was imminent and this
2 man team knew that it was only a matter of time before it
happened. In the fall of 1998, a building at 306 S. Main
in Ellensburg was acquired and work on Ellensburg's first
full service pro/fly shop was being
constructed. |

|
|
|
|
During the winter of 1998, hours were spent
constructing the new facility to meet the needs of the Yakima River fly
fishers and the guests of WBFC. It took many hours of hard labor and
dedication, while still maintaining the web-site and guide services.
|
|
|
|
Spring of 1999, work continued on the expansion
project for Worley-Bugger Fly Co. On July 14th, 1999 Worley-Bugger Fly
Co. opened its fly shop doors to the public and within 15 minutes had it's
very first sale. Since this time the expansion of the fly shop, guide
service and web-services continues to grow to meet the needs of fly fishermen
world wide.

|
|
|
During the 2000 season, an
additional crew were added to the guiding professionals of
Worley Bugger Fly Co.
The professional guide services
continues to be built around local individuals who have an
intimate knowledge of the rivers and species that live here.
Our guests benefit from this and reaps its rewards. In
2001, Worley Bugger continued its expansion,
branching out from the Yakima and now offers several new and
