Over the past several decades, fly fishing has become a popular form of fishing, espeically in the Western United States.  With the vast amount of fabled rivers, streams and stillwater fisheries spread out across the Pacific Northwest, both men and women have taken up the sport of fly fishing. 

Each year, the interest and intrique in catching both freshwater and saltwater species of fish on flies continues to grow.  With that said, the professional staff at Worley Bugger Fly Co, has been educating fly anglers for over two decades on the art of catching fish with flies.

Below is a list of fly fishing classes that our professional fly fishing instructing staff has assembled.  These classes are designed for the people of all fishing skill levels.  Browse throughout the variety of classes that we offer and feel free to contact the WBFC proshop with any questions you have.  Your decision to learn the art of fly fishing will refine who you are and take you to some of the world's most beautiful and interesting places.  We are happy to help you become the best fly fishermen that you can be.

Worley Bugger Fly Co-Fly Fishing 101

The WBFC Fly Fishing 101, 102 and 103 Classes are a complete set of structured courses that will teach you everything you will need to know to begin your fly fishing passion.  As you advance in each course, your skill levels and your ability to retain the information you have learned will be tested and observed by your course instructor.  Each professional mentor of WBFC, will prepare you properly and make sure they correctly identifiy any imperfections in your skill levels before you advance in each course.  We recommend participating in all three courses over a short period of time, so you retain the information from each course, however feel free to participate in one course, two course or all three at your speed.

In order to first begin fly fishing you must first understand the basic concepts, which include the equipment, casting of a fly rod along with a host of other important and vital concepts.  The first class, fly fishing 101 will start you on the life long road in becoming a true fly fishing artisan.  Our instructors will instill in you the necessary skills and knowledge, you will need to build a strong, fly fishing foundation.

Our professional accredited, knowledgeable instructors will work one on one with you throughout the course. We will progress through the class making sure to cover each subject matter thoroughly.  During the day, you will begin to learn the in-depth skills required of you to fly fish in a variety of unique and distinct situations.  Most students of WBFC, complete each course over a 3 day period.  You have the option of doing the classes in consecutive increments of breaking them up over a period of time.  We will gladly work with any students schedule.

Below is an outline of our day long introduction to fly fishing (8 Hour Course Structure).  A minimum of (2) two people is required for the class per day.  If you do not have an additional person, contact the Worley Bugger pro shop and ask to be put on our fly fishing class wait list.  Chances are we can fit you into one of our classes quickly.  Half of this class will be inside in the WBFC Proshop and the other half will be conducted outdoors.  Please make sure to bring the proper clothing for the weather conditions.

The WBFC Fly Fishing 101 Class is an 8 hour class that is designed to give you all of the basic knowledge you will need in order to begin fly fishing. 

A minimum of two people is required.

WBFC Fly Fishing 102 Class

The WBFC Fly Fishing 102 Course, is the next designed class in our continuing EDU courses.  In 102, the fly fishing challenages get a bit more diffucult and your instructor will begin to refine the skills that you had learned in the previous 101 course.  Let the fun begin!

In the 102 course, we move the class outside to the water and work on a combination of techinques that will both challenage you and reward you as well.  The Professional Guiding Staff at WBFC has partnered with Lund Pond Farms and this fun and exciting class is held at the Lund Pond, private fishing facility.  Here, you will learn a variety of fly fishing techiques for fishing on stillwaters that will be important and highly useful as you continue your path of knowledge. 

During the 102 course, each student will learn several new techniques that will prepare you for a variety of fly fishing challenges.  During your day,  you will learn the proper form and technique in hooking a fish on a fly as well as the challenge of landing a fish.  Lund Pond grows exceptionaly, large Rainbow Trout.  Lund Pond, is an excellent place for beginners to learn the hook set techique, how to play a fish on a fly rod as well as the reward of landing a fish.  Each season, skilled fly fishermen with years of experience, love the challenage that Lund Pond offers their skill level.  They feel it keeps them fresh and prepared to tackle other diffucult fisheries throughout the fly fishing season.

The WBFC Fly Fishing 103 Course, is the final class and by far your biggest and funnest challenage of all, fly fishing on moving water.  In 103, we introduce you to a new set of dynamic challenges that every fly fishermen faces on big western rivers, hooking and landing large, powerful, wild trout, in swift moving water.

In course 103, your Professional Guide and Instructor from WBFC introduces you to the Yakima River and drift boat fishing.   Here, we teach you the proper form and techinque to fly cast from a moving postion. Your WBFC, Professional Guide & Instructor will percisionally row the drift boat from one challenaging trout spot to another, setting you up and coaching you the entire day.  You will also learn you how to properly fly fish in close quaters, fore & aft in the drift boat, with your fishing partner just a few feet away.

During the day, your instructor will tailor your casting, mending and accuracy skills.  We will also refine your line control, hook set and teach you how to play powerful, wild trout in moving water and successfully land them.  This is one of the ultimate, freshwater challenges that every Western Fly Fishermen, looks forward to each and every season.  Your final course and your indoctrination to the sport of fly fishing.
